Tel-Aviv, January 7th, 2014

WCK is excited to announce that it has been included in the list of major OT security product providers in the Gartner report from Dec. 2013: Competitive Landscape: Critical Infrastructure Protection, Worldwide, 2014, written by analysts Ruggero Contu and Earl Perkins.

According to the US Department of Homeland Security, critical infrastructure refers to “the assets, systems, and networks,” that are so vital to… a country,  “that their incapacitation or destruction would have a debilitating effect on security… economic security, national public health or safety.”

One of the main characteristics of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) is the convergence of IT security, OT security and physical security.  CIP-focused industries require solutions that can support both IT and OT markets. This represents a significant shift in their CIP security planning and management.

The report identifies 4  types of vendors in the Critical Infrastructure Protection space:

  1. OT security service providers
  2. OT security product providers
  3. government and defense infrastructure protection providers
  4. and information security players looking to expand into CIP.

The Gartner report has identified WCK as one of the 25 Major OT security product providers for 2014, operating in the CIP sector, together with companies such as Boeing, Honeywell, Industrial Defender, Siemens, Lockheed Martin, Rockwell Automation, Raytheon and Wurldtech.

Gartner explains that successful OT security product vendors must be able to support logical, physical, IT and OT environments.

“We are thrilled about Gartner’s inclusion of WCK in its list of the major OT security technology vendors, says Eyal Adar, WCK’s CEO and founder. He continues, ” WCK software was designed from the start to support critical infrastructure. Our unique, asset-oriented approach provides critical infrastructure companies with a holistic solution that enables the convergence of risk management for IT, OT and physical systems.:

In fact, WCK’s automated policy engine allows organizations to enforce different policies for all the different types of assets in the world of Critical Infrastructure, whether they are standard IT systems, specialized OT systems such as SCADA and embedded systems or physical devices such as pumps, manufacturing plants, etc.

The market for CIP products covers multiple market industries, the most active being  energy, utilities,  government, manufacturing, the financial sector and natural resources.  WCK has developed risk management blueprints for many CIP industries, including each market’s  unique assets, standard and risk management requirements.  This allows customers to achieve holistic risk management  within two to three months.

According to Gartner, one of the key drivers influencing CIP spending are compliance requirements to standards being enforced by customers and governments.  These include  ISO27001, ISA-99, IEC 62443-2-1, NERC – CIP, all of which are supported by WCK.
