WCK Patent is for Risk Management of System Development Lifecycle

WCK announced today that is has been awarded US patent number 8,392,999 titled: “Apparatus and methods for assessing and maintaining security of a computerized system under development.”

Today’s cyber challenges have encouraged development teams to start incorporating security risk management early in the development lifecycle of systems.  Finding a security vulnerability as early as possible reduces the effort and cost of security-related patches later on in production.

The patent granted covers WCK’s innovative methodology and algorithms for efficient security risk assessment and management during development life cycles and version control of systems.  WCK uses different, but related algorithms to automatically assign and blend controls for assets and systems in production as well, but the development phase of systems requires unique capabilities.

WCK risk assessment model and algorithms enable automatic assignment of different sets of control requirements for the different phases of system development, taking into account the criticality of assets, as well as the changing properties of these assets in the different phases of development.
